Ended the season with an overall record of 18-10 (18-10 career) โฆ began theย season on court six, partnering with Taylor Ford (split all three matches without a result) and then spent the majority of the year (29 of the last 30 duals including the postseason) with Alexa Fernandez, going 18-9 (1-0 on court three, 15-9 on court four, and 2-0 on court five)ย โฆ also went 0-1 on court four with Sophie Moore โฆ the Bruins faced 32 ranked opponents in the 39 duals on the year with Mathews going 15-10 against ranked teamsย โฆ recorded a season-best winning streak of seven dualsย (all with Fernandez)ย which began vs. No. 1 USC (Feb. 22) and ended vs. No. 9 California (March 8)ย โฆ Mathews clinched four victories in dual matches on the year for the Bruins (all with Fernandez) with the biggest coming in a 3-0ย MPSF Championship first-round victory over No. 9 Californiaย on Apr. 24 at Huntington Beachย โฆ Fernandez and Mathews went 2-3 in postseason play (1-1 at NCAAs and 1-2 at MPSFs with one truncated match) โฆ Mathews went 12-6 in two-set matches (all with Fernandez) and 6-4 in three-set matches on the year (6-3 with Fernandez and 0-1 with Moore).

Attended Redwood High School for all four years โฆ was a four-year letterwinner in indoor volleyball as a setter โฆ received the State Championship MVP, First-Team All-CIF, State Champion MVP, All-League, Outstanding Student-Athlete Award and Scholarshipโฆ played club volleyball for Golden Gate Beach Volleyball Club โฆ won an AAU National Championship with partner Taylor Ford (who also attends UCLA)ย ... attended U.S. National Team Training Camp in the offseason.

Full name:ย Kaley Patricia Mathews โฆ born in Marin County โฆ parents are Grier and Thomas Mathews โฆ has an older brother, Jake, and an older sister, Graceย โฆ chose UCLA because, โIt is not only very competitive academically, but it is regarded as one of the best beach volleyball schools as well. Also, it has been my dream school for a while.โ โฆ describes greatest athletic thrill as, โWinning the AAU National Championship with my partner Taylor Ford who also attends UCLA. It was an amazing and energetic scene and solidified all the work I had put into the game.โ โฆ athletes she most admires includes Brandie Wilkerson, Draymond Green, and Venus Williams โฆ enjoys hanging out with her friends, going to the beach, reading, doing math, and spending time with her family and pets in her free time โฆ an interesting fact about her is she was a nationally-ranked setter โฆ a fun fact is that she owns a parrot named Sunny who โis the sweetest birdโ โฆ majoring in environmental science.
