LOS ANGELES – Senior Taylor Tinsley pitched a complete-game shutout to help the No. 10 UCLA softball team to a 4-0 victory over Indiana at Easton Stadium Sunday afternoon, securing the series sweep.

The Bruins (33-5, 13-2 Big Ten) broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth with three runs off one hit and three errors. Redshirt junior Ramsey Suarez entered the game as a pinch hitter with a runner on second and drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI double into the right-center gap in the first pitch of her at-bat.
Two more runners came around to score in the fourth thanks to two errors on the same play by Hoosiers (27-10, 7-5 Big Ten) second baseman Aly VanBrandt. Sophomore Rylee Slimp hit a groundball to VanBrandt who was unable to field cleanly. Her throw to first was late and sailed towards the visitors' dugout as a second run scored.

Slimp finished the game 3-for-4 with a double at the plate for her second three-hit performance of the series (4-for-4 in Game 1).

Indiana finished the game with five errors, three belonging to VanBrandt.

Tinsley's (18-3) performance marked her fifth complete-game shutout of the season and 13th of her career. She finished her outing with three hits, two walks and two strikeouts while lowering her season ERA to 2.68.

Catcher Alexis Ramirez added a run in the bottom of the sixth with a solo homer to left field for her eighth of the season.
