Beach volleyball graduate Maggie Boyd has been selected the 2025-26 Academic All-America® Women’s At-Large Team Member of the Year, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Boyd becomes the first UCLA student-athlete to win this award in any sport.

The award is the latest that Boyd is pioneering for UCLA. Earlier this year, she became UCLA’s first-ever AVCA Beach National Player of the Year, and she also became just the seventh beach volleyball player ever to earn four first-team AVCA All-America honors. Boyd capped her remarkable senior season by leading UCLA to its third national title, clinching the championship with a straight-sets victory on court one against No. 1 Stanford.

The Flower Mound, Texas native finished her senior season with 125 career wins, which rank third all-time at UCLA. She also holds the No. 2 and No. 4 spots on UCLA’s all-time pairs victory list, ranking No. 2 with 64 wins with Sally Perez and No. 4 with 57 victories with Lexy Denaburg. Boyd holds a share of the school record for most career NCAA Tournament victories with 13.

A standout on court one since her freshman year, Boyd is a four-time first-team All-American and all-conference selection and a three-time AVCA Top Flight Award-winner. She and Perez won back-to-back MPSF Pair of the Year honors in 2025 and 2026, and Boyd was named the MPSF Player of the Year in 2025, as well as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2023. On the academic side, she is the first UCLA beach volleyball player to earn two Academic All-America honors. She also earned conference all-academic honors three years and received the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award in 2025. Boyd completed her degree in psychology in June with a cumulative GPA of 3.606.
