FRISCO, Texas – UCLA’s Angela Liu and Kacey Ly were named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team on Monday. Liu and Ly were two of 1,551 student-athletes recognized with the prestigious honor.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must (1) have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, (2) be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and (3) have played in 50% of the team’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year through the team's conference championship.

Liu, a psychology major, has been selected as a WGCA All-American Scholar in each of her first two seasons at UCLA. In 2025-26, the sophomore registered a 73.0 scoring average over nine tournaments and 26 rounds. Liu finished the year with two top-20 finishes and having contributed 16 of her 20 possible rounds to the team’s score.

Ly, a physiological sciences major, was honored as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and selected to the All-Big Ten First Team in her debut campaign. The Temple City, California, native led the Bruins with a 72.54 scoring average, four top-5 finishes, a 90.6% counting round percentage and four eagles. She was also tied for the team lead with 113 birdies. Ly enjoyed a stellar Spring 2026 with all four of her top-5 placements and six rounds in the 60s coming during the back half of the season.
