RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – Spencer Johnson of the UCLA men’s tennis team earned his third SoCal Pro Series singles title of 2026 Sunday at Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club, site of the summer circuit’s finale. In total, Bruins from the men’s and women’s teams contributed to 10 championships across seven stops.

The SoCal Pro Series, which showcases up-and-coming players based in Southern California, completed its fifth season on the $15,000 ITF World Tour/USTA Pro Circuit. Tournaments were played in Lakewood, Los Angeles, Irvine, Claremont, San Diego and finally Rancho Santa Fe from May 25-July 12.

Seeded first on the men’s side, Johnson did not drop a set en route to his crown. The Ladera Ranch, Calif. native outlasted No. 2 seed Noah Zamora 7-6(2), 7-5 in the final. Johnson entered the summer without a professional title to his name, but ultimately lifted trophies in Irvine, Claremont and Rancho Santa Fe. He also teamed with Emon van Loben Sels to capture the top doubles spot in Irvine.

Johnson moved into second on the all-time SoCal Pro Series men’s singles championship leaderboard with Sunday’s performance. Learner Tien won five during his 2024 and 2023 appearances.

The men’s singles field also featured van Loben Sels, Nav Dayal and Rudy Quan of UCLA. Incoming freshman Dayal earned his spot by way of a wild card. Zamora needed three sets to beat fourth-seeded van Loben Sels in the singles semifinal round.

Jessica Bernales, a transfer from Michigan, shined for the UCLA women’s tennis team. She advanced out of qualifying into the singles draw and reached the doubles final alongside Sophia Sampras Webster. Bernales/Sampras Webster beat the No. 1 seed to start its run. Joining Bernales in the singles draw was Kate Fakih, who made the quarterfinals. Fakih was coming off a runner-up finish in San Diego.
