The award recognizes student-athletes and head coaches from every level of college football for their commitment to community service, academic achievement and leadership.

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Redshirt freshman long snapper Halakilangi Muagututi’a of the UCLA football team has been nominated for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which recognizes student-athletes and head coaches from every level of college football for their commitment to community service, academic achievement and leadership.

Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced the 175 nominees – 162 student-athletes and 13 head coaches – on Monday. The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which will be announced in September, will include 22 student-athletes and one honorary head coach. One student-athlete also will be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.

Established in 1992 and presented by Allstate since 2008, the Good Works Team honors players who use their platforms to strengthen communities and support causes that matter to them. Muagututi’a regularly volunteers with the West Coast Lions Football Pantry, a nonprofit organization based in Compton, California, that provides nutritious food and resources to families and individuals in need.

Muagututi’a also has participated in community service initiatives organized by the UCLA football program. His volunteer efforts include serving and distributing food to community members, including one event that provided more than 400 meals to individuals and families. His commitment to serving others reflects the type of leadership and character the Good Works Team was created to recognize.

The Laie, Hawaii, native enters his redshirt freshman season at UCLA in 2026-27. Muagututi’a was ranked as the No. 1 long snapper in his class by Rubio Long Snapping during his prep career at Kahuku High & Intermediate High School.

Allstate Wuerffel Trophy
The watch list for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, college football’s premier award for community service, will be announced on Aug. 11. The trophy is presented annually by the Wuerffel Foundation to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and performance on and off the field.
