Five former UCLA softball players helped the Utah Talons win the 2026 AUSL Championship at Davis Diamond in College Station, Texas, on Sunday afternoon.

The group of Bruins includes Jadelyn Allchin, Megan Faraimo, Sharlize Palacios, Taylor Tinsley and Jordan Woolery. General manager Lisa Fernandez and assistant coach Will Oldham – both UCLA softball staff members – have now won back-to-back AUSL Championships together in the first two years of the upstart league.

The Utah Talons defeated the Chicago Bandits by scores of 2-1 and 6-1 in Games 1 and 2, respectively, in the best-of-three championship series.

Allchin was named the AUSL Championship Most Valuable Player, voted on by AUSL team & league personnel and broadcasters, after a pair of games that showcased her consistent bat, flashes of power, and defensive prowess.

The two-hole batter in the Utah lineup, Allchin, launched a two-run blast over the right-center wall in the top of the first inning on Game 2 for her fifth homer of the year. She later tacked on another run in the fourth, doubling down the right-field line. Allchin also laid out for a catch in left field in the third frame.

Allchin scored both of the Talons’ two runs in Game 1 on Saturday, including the go-ahead on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Woolery went a combined 2-for-3 with a walk during the championship series.

The Talons finished the 2026 season with a league-best 17-9 record. Allchin led the team with a .345 batting average (29-for-84), 20 RBIs and 22 runs scored. Palacios ranked second on the team with a .340 average (16-for-47) and recorded 11 RBIs in 17 games. In her rookie season, Woolery batted .294 (20-for-68) with 11 RBIs, three doubles and one home run.

In the circle, Faraimo posted a 4-2 record with a 3.83 earned run average and 42 strikeouts over 45.2 innings. Tinsley made two appearances, including a complete-game shutout in her professional debut.
