LOS ANGELES – Junior Nicki Fraser of UCLA Women’s Soccer been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by Champion of Westwood for athletic competitions held between Aug. 11-17.
The Bruin defender started both games for the women’s soccer team on opening week, marking her first games back since November 2024. In the 1-1 tie against No. 3 Duke, she drew a penalty kick in the second half to help the Bruins recover from a second-minute free kick goal by the Blue Devils. Fraser, the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, missed all of 2025 with an injury and logged 60 minutes in her first game against BYU and 64 against Duke. She and the Bruin defense helped hold Duke to just two shots in the game, including zero in the second half.
The junior secures her first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
