LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women’s Rowing has added Siobhan Quirke as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 school year, the program announced Wednesday.

“We’re excited to welcome Siobhan Quirke to UCLA Rowing,” said head coach Vanessa Tavalero. “A three-time NCAA Division II champion at Central Oklahoma, Siobhan brings a championship mindset, great energy, and a drive for excellence that will strengthen our staff and our culture. She has already jumped right into the work, and we’re thrilled to have her with us as we continue building toward our goals at UCLA.”

The former collegiate rower graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She helped Central Oklahoma capture the NCAA DII championship title in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Quirke attended Los Alamitos High School in Long Beach, Calif., and rowed for Long Beach Junior Crew before making her way to Oklahoma.

“I’m incredibly excited to join UCLA Women’s Rowing and work alongside such an accomplished coaching staff,” said Quirke. “I’m honored to contribute to UCLA’s tradition and standard of excellence while helping our student-athletes succeed both on and off the water. I’ve had close friends graduate from this program over the years, which makes it even more special to now be joining the Bruin family myself!”

Quirke spent the last year as the full-time head coach of the Kenmore Community Rowing Club and of the Northshore School District in Washington state. She previously served as the programming and operations manager, and masters and youth coach, for Kenmore before taking the helm in October 2025.
