LOS ANGELES – Fifth year Marianna Singletary of UCLA Women’s Volleyball been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by Champion of Westwood for athletic competitions held between Aug. 25-31.

Singletary was named Big Ten Player of the Week after leading UCLA to a perfect 2-0 start on opening weekend, anchoring the Bruins with elite two way production in both matches against Long Beach State. In Friday’s four set win at LBSU, she delivered a blistering performance with 16 kills on a .429 clip while roofing nine blocks, repeatedly snuffing out Beach swings on the defensive end. She followed that outing with another commanding effort inside Pauley Pavilion, striking for nine kills, adding eight more blocks, and finishing with 13 points as she controlled the net from start to finish. Across the two matches, Singletary combined for 25 kills on .385 hitting with 17 total blocks.

The middle blocker secures her first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
