LOS ANGELES – Fifth year Wayne Knight of UCLA Football been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by Champion of Westwood for athletic competitions held between Sept. 1-7.
Knight led a potent UCLA running attack on Saturday night as the Bruins’ opened the Bob Chesney era with a 45-24 win at California. He notched 71 yards and three touchdowns on just eight rushes, which marked his first-career game with multiple rushing touchdowns. Knight became the first player with three TDs in his UCLA debut since Zach Charbonnet in 2021. He led the Bruins in both all-purpose yards (157 – 71 rush, 56 KR, 30 receiving) and explosive plays (20+ yards – four), and eclipsed 100 all-purpose yards in a game for the 13th time in his career.
The running back secures his first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
