Betts Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by La Victoria

LOS ANGELES – Senior Lauren Betts of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between Dec. 23-Jan. 5.
The Bruin center led UCLA to a 3-0 week to open the full slate of conference games - including two ranked wins at No. 19 OSU and against No. 17 USC - scoring 20.3 points and grabbing 11.7 rebounds per game. Betts had her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season in those ranked victories; the center had 18 points and 16 rebounds against the No. 19 Buckeyes. Betts had nine offensive rebounds at Ohio State; the Buckeyes finished with 10 offensive boards as a team in the game. Betts recorded a season-high 25 points in 25 minutes at Penn State on New Year's Eve before her 18-point, 12-rebound outing that propelled the Bruins to a 34-point win over rival USC. Betts is averaging 21.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game in conference play; UCLA is 4-0 in B1G games.
Betts secures her 12th-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
