LOS ANGELES – The No. 1-ranked UCLA baseball team earned its 16^th consecutive victory with a 6-2 win over Loyola Marymount on Tuesday night inside Jackie Robinson Stadium.

The Bruins (22-2, 9-0 Big Ten) used a three-hit day from Roch Cholowsky and a stellar showing from the bullpen to cruise to their 14^th straight win over LMU (9-18).

UCLA's 16-game surge stands as the longest active winning streak in all of Division I baseball.

The UCLA relievers retired 20 of the last 21 batters to shut down the Lions for the last six innings of the ballgame. Justin Lee (2-0) earned his second win of the campaign after an excellent appearance that saw him fan two batters in 1.2 innings pitched.

Roman Martin added a two-hit night of his own and drove in a pair, while Mulivai Levu extended his hitting streak to six games with a 1-for-3 effort. Jarrod Hocking and Trey Gudoy each chipped in a base hit as well.

Behind the plate, Kasen Khansarinia made the most of his start, collecting the first hit of his collegiate career.

Angel Cervantes allowed back-to-back base hits to open the contest, but managed to settle down and strike out the side to get out of the jam.

UCLA wasted no time grabbing control in the bottom of the first. West opened the inning with a walk, and Cholowsky followed by hammering a double off the center-field wall to put two aboard. Levu plated the game's first run with an infield single, and Martin added another moments later with a steady RBI groundout, giving the Bruins an early 2-0 cushion.

The Lions chipped away in the second when Cooper Whitton cut the lead in half with a solo shot, then pulled even an inning later by scratching across another run to make it 2-2.

UCLA rebuilt its two-run cushion in the third by cashing in another pair. Cholowsky ripped a single through the right side and Levu followed with a four-pitch walk. Martin then took advantage of LMU's heavily shifted infield to the pull side and grounded a base knock through the right side, scoring Cholowsky. Payton Brennan worked a walk to load the bases, and Will Gasparino lifted a high fly to left that disappeared in the lights, dropping untouched. With the infield-fly rule invoked amid the confusion, the play still went down as a sacrifice fly, allowing Levu to trot home and push the Bruins' lead back to two.

UCLA padded its lead in the seventh with two more runs. Brennan was hit by a pitch to start the rally, and Hocking followed with a sharp single to right. A double steal moved both runners into scoring position, allowing Khansarinia to bring home Brennan with an RBI groundout. Moments later, a wild pitch plated Hocking from third, stretching the Bruins' advantage to four.

The bullpen slammed the door in the late innings, as Elai Iwanaga and Ian May each delivered a scoreless frame in the seventh and eighth before Easton Hawk worked a spotless ninth to finish off the win.
