Bruins Set to Face Canada Basketball at W’HOOP IT UP in July

VICTORIA, B.C. – UCLA Women's Basketball heads north to face Canada's Senior Women's National Team at W'HOOP IT UP for an exhibition match on July 22, 2026, Canada Basketball announced Monday.
"We're always looking for opportunities to get better, so it was a no-brainer to sign on for W'HOOP IT UP," said The Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close. "It will be such a great experience for us to play against Canada Basketball's Senior Women's National team. We're excited to create some 'Remember When's' while we're up north, compete at the highest level, and become closer as a team."
UCLA and Canada Basketball will play at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, B.C. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. PT with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. PT.
The game will provide fans of Canada Basketball with an opportunity to see the Senior Women's National Team compete on home soil as it prepares for the FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in August 2026.
"Victoria has become a special home away from home for our Senior Women's National Team, and we're thrilled to return once again this summer," said Michael Bartlett, President & CEO of Canada Basketball. "The support we've received from the Greater Victoria basketball community over the past several years has been incredible, and this game against UCLA will provide an important opportunity for our athletes and coaching staff as we continue our preparation for the FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament.
