INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Megan McNamara partnered with her twin sisterย during the 2018 offseason and participated in six different FIVB World Tour events at four different levelsย ... began with a 1-Star event in Bangkok, Thailand, placing fourth at the Bangkok Open 2018 on May 13ย ... then placed 17thย at a 2-Star on June 24ย in Singaporeย ... finished 5th at a National Tournament in Nuernberg, Germany on July 1 and then won the 9th Annual World University Beach Volleyball Championship title in Munich, Germany on July 13ย ... there were 32 beach volleyball pairs from 29 different countries competingย on brand new courts in the historical Olympic Park at the WUBVC ... placed 9th at a 3-Star event on July 22 in Haiyang, Chinaย ... finished 5th at a 3-Star event on July 29 in Tokyo, Japanย ... finished 2nd at a Continental Tour event in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on Sept. 30ย ... placed 33rdย at a 4-Star on Oct. 21 in Las Vegas, Nev. ... concluded play at a 3-Star in Chetumal, Mexico on Oct. 28, placing 4th.
2018
Partnered with junior Nicole McNamaraย the entire season and the duo wasย named First Team All-Americaย and the court oneย Pair of the Year by VolleyMob ... the pair was also named First Teamย All-Americaย by the AVCA for the third straight season ... enters her senior season with a career record of 81-28ย ... set a UCLA record for wins in a season going 35-7 on the year, all on court one ... the 5-foot-9-inch twin sisters are the shortest team on court one in the nation, but went 7-1 during postseason play including a 4-0 mark at the NCAA Championship in May, helping lead UCLA to its first-ever national title in beach volleyball ... UCLA had arguably the toughest schedule in the nation, as evidenced by the McNamara's record of 30-7 against ranked teams (two more matches against ranked teams were truncated at the NCAA Championship) ... the twins were never swept on the season with all seven losses coming in three sets ... additionally, the duo was 31-0 in matches decided in two sets ... the McNamaras were named the Pac-12 Pair of the Year and also tabbed to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team and to the NCAA All-Tournament Team on court one ... they also recorded a personal-best winning streak of 16 consecutive duals during the season ... both players were named First Team All-Pac-12 and as Pac-12 First Team All-Academic performers ... the pair also clinched 11 victories in dual matches on the year for the Bruins, which was second on the team.

Megan McNamara was a left-side hitter for coach Dan Burgess at South Delta Secondary School in Vancouver, Canada ... earned a Provincial Championship gold medal and first team All-Star honors in indoor competition for three consecutive years (2012-14) ... won the NVL Hermosa bronze medal in beach comeptition (summer of 2015) ... played club beach volleyball for the Sideout Beach Volleyball Club in Vancouverย ... was a three-time Canadian National Champion while competing on the U16, U18 and Women's Open teams ...ย won silver at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games and bronze at the 2014 FIBV U19 World Championships in Portugal.
