Pink Floyd

Dodgers
One word that best describes you:
Hard-working
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Somewhere in the
Carribean
Ten years from now, what do you see yourself doing?:
Playing baseball with the
Dodgers
Things you do when you're not playing baseball:
Weightlifting, skiing, golfing
Pre-game rituals/superstitions:
"I always warm up a certain way before every
game. I don't like to use anybody else's things. I always wear my stirrups the
same way."
Why do you like baseball?:
"It is such a complicated
game. There's so much to learn about the game. You can have all the talent in the
world and never make it in baseball because there's more to it. You've got to
have a lot of intelligence. You've got to have a good mind. If you work hard it
pays off. I just think it's a great game. It's been a part of my life forever."
Sport you would play if you couldn't play baseball:
"Football, because I like
watching football. I played a little in high school and I had fun doing it. I like
the intensity of football. I like how your hard work in the weight room can pay
off directly in the game. With baseball, it's not always like that. You can work
as hard as you want, you can get strong but it doesn't always pay off."
Athlete you admire:
"Mark McGwire. He's my favorite guy in the major leagues. I
admire him because he's had so much pressure on him and through all that
pressure he still performed and he actually performed better. Not many people
can do that. He had so much pressure on him and he still came through, better
than anybody had ever expected. He's a good role-model."
Team you'd most like to beat:
"Stanford."
Most memorable moment on the field:
Last year in Washington when I hit four home
runs. Also, beating USC with a home run.
Best things about playing baseball at UCLA:
"There's not much not to like. I
like the coaches' style of coaching. They give us a lot of responsibility. It's
just a lot of fun playing with the guys on the team. We've got a lot of good
people. It's just a great place to play. The weather's nice here. We have a good
team. There's nothing you can't like about UCLA."
Did you always want to go to UCLA?:
""Actually, I always thought I wanted to go to Stanford. They have a good baseball program but later I realized I didn't want to go there. UCLA was always there from the start, recruiting wise. That meant a lot to me."
