5th Annual BRUIN VARSITY CLUB Tailgate Party!

It's that time again, Bruins! The annual Bruin Varsity Club tailgate party and bbq is almost here and all BVC members are invited. The party is set to start 3 HOURS prior to kickoff. Join your fellow alums for a day of great bbq, refreshing drinks, good people and the musical stylings of the Flashback Heart Attack!!

4th Annual Bruin Varsity Club Tailgate Party
HOMECOMING WEEKEND
November 7th, 2009
We are inviting all BVC members to our annual tailgater this November 7th during Homecoming weekend. The reception will be held at Area H of the Rose Bowl and will start approximately 2-1/2 hours before kickoff. Bruin Varsity Club PREMIER members will receive (1) FREE admission to the party. Annual Spring Reception

With Spring in the air, the Bruin Nation converged in Pasadena to get a preview of what's in store for our football program this upcoming season. The Rose Bowl was in full tailgate mode, and once again, we had a special party set aside for our BVC faithful. There was a great vibe, as many in attendance were anxious to get the second year of the Neuheisel era underway. The party then moved from the tent to the football field and we practiced our "8-Claps" and the team scrimmaged in front of 7,000-plus rabid Bruin fans. What a day!!!

One of the most talented national championship teams that UCLA has fielded in any sport was celebrated in the Morgan Center before watching the current Bruins squad, in a four-team meet at Pauley Pavilion. The team included three future UCLA Hall of Famers: Peter Vidmar, Tim Daggett and Mitch Gaylord. We also had the pleasure of being joined by the larger Bruin gymnastics community, as coach Kondos-Field invited many of the other former teams as well. The day ended with the current Bruin gymnasts thumping their competition in Pauley once again!

A perfect way to start off the New Year!!! On a Sunday afternoon, BVC members and their guests came to the J.D. Morgan Center to reunite with one another and enjoy a pre-game party in the Hall of Fame, before heading to Pauley Pavilion to watch our Women's Basketball squad take on our U$C rivals. Coach Nikki Caldwell stopped by the party to address the crowd and promised we'd see a strong performance that day...and she delivered! We took it to the Women of Troy in an 87-75 thumping, in front of a crowd of more than 5,000.

Calling all former Bruin Football players! For select home games during the 2008 season, we held an exclusive pre-game tailgate party for our former footballers. Players and their guests were treated to catered food, a full bar, big screen televisions, and comfortable seating, in a sports-lounge type of atmosphere. The former players and their guests were also given the opportunity to be escorted onto the playing field prior to each game during pre-game warm-ups. Look for us in 2009!!!

We came, we saw, we conquered! More than 1,500 former Bruin athletes and their guests celebrated at the Rose Bowl before we took on the Stanford Cardinal during UCLA Homecoming Weekend. It was an early day as people began arriving at 10:00am to celebrate Bruin unity. We ate ribs, danced to the DJ, chatted with old friends and kept the bartender busy! The day's festivities then moved to the football field, as our gutty Bruins captured victory on a last second touchdown pass!!!

On a warm Saturday afternoon in Pasadena, the Bruin faithful gathered at Rose Bowl to usher in the "Neu Era" of UCLA Football. Coach Rick Neuheisel was on hand to meet and greet a crowd of 500 strong, before the Bruins took the field for their annual Spring Scrimmage. We ate, drank and shared a great time in Area H, before heading into the Rose Bowl to catch a sneak preview of our 2008 Football squad.

Bruin Nation is alive and well!!! Our UCLA pride was on full display at the Rose Bowl for our second annual BVC Tailgate Party, as more than 1,000 of us gathered under the large circus tent in Area-H. The food was amazing and the good vibes kept coming. With so many Bruin greats on hand Cal didn't stand a chance that day, as we routed them once again on playing field, 30-21. There's nothing better than a Bruin party!!!

Welcome to the Bruin Varsity Club! This was our first mass-gathering of Bruin letter winners under the new "Bruin Varsity Club" banner. What a great day we had getting to be with each other once again. For some of us, it's been over 50 years. However, once a Bruin, always a Bruin! We might not all be the athletes we once were, but we sure didn't lose our ability to have a good time!

On a sunny, Saturday morning, more than 1,000 former UCLA student-athletes gathered at the Rose Bowl for the 3rd Annual Life Pass Tailgate Party. Guests included members of the 1954 National Championship Bruin Football team, the 1974 and 1984 National Championship Bruin Women's Volleyball team and UCLA's 2004 Olympians. (more)

On Saturday, October 18, the UCLA Athletic Department hosted the 2nd Annual Life Pass Tailgate Party at the Rose Bowl. Former student-athletes from as far back as the 1940's came together to reminisce with family, friends and former teammates, prior to enjoying the Bruins' overtime 23-20 victory over the California Bears.
