Powell was a four-year letterwinner in softball and played point guard for the Conroe High School girlโs basketball team for three years โฆ named the Texas District 13-6A Offensive Player of the Year in back-to-back years as a junior and senior โฆ ranked as the No. 6 overall recruit in the country by Extra Inning Softball, No. 15 by MaxPreps and No. 24 by FloSoftball โฆ as a junior in 2021, she slashed .583/.628/.893 with a 1.501 OPS, 35 steals, 20 runs batted in, 45 runs scored and 49 hits, including seven doubles, five triples and three homers โฆ as a freshman in 2019, Powell hit .545 with 42 hits and 22 stolen bases โฆ won 11 national championships on her travel ball teams, including three with the Diamond Sports Hotshots Premier Nelson at the PGF National Tournament โฆ at the 2020 USA Gold Nationals, she hit .429 with 15 runs and swiped a team-high 13 stolen bases to earn 2020 National MVP honors.
