Shaw made one start and 17 relief appearances in the circle in her final season as a Bruin โฆ logged 25.1 total innings โฆ posted a 1-0 record with a 2.49 earned run average and 21 strikeouts โฆ went 4.0 innings with two strikeouts, two hits and one earned run allowed in her longest outing of the season and winning effort versus CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 10) โฆ pitched 1.0 inning of shutout relief against Iowa (Feb. 24) โฆย tossed two innings of scoreless relief versus Cal Poly, striking out one batter (March 4) โฆ did not allow a run to score in the month of April in her seven relief appearances (9.1 innings).
2022
Shaw made eight starts and 25 total appearances โฆ posted a 6-2 record with a team-leading 1.47 earned run average across 57.0 innings pitched โฆ joined forces with Megan Faraimo to toss the third combined perfect game in program history with her 2.0 innings against Pennsylvania (March 10) โฆ threw 5.0 innings of one-hit, shutout ball against Iowa State (Feb. 25) โฆ went 4.0 shutout innings, allowing only two hits and striking out a season-high seven batters in her victory over Fresno State (March 12) โฆ allowed just one earned run in 6.1 innings against No. 12 Oregon for the win in her longest outing of the season (April 11) โฆ had 11 scoreless relief appearances.
Iowa (2018-21)
Shaw compiled a 21-18 record with a 2.19 ERA in 255.1 total innings pitched over 56 appearances and 38 starts in her Hawkeye career ... put together back-to-back nine-win campaigns in 2020 and 2021 โฆ had a 9-4 record and two saves in 2021 as a senior, including six complete games and 58 strikeouts โฆ ranked sixth in the Big Ten with a 2.03 ERA that season โฆ ranked 21st in the nation and first in the Big Ten in walks allowed per seven innings (1.09) โฆ tied for second in the Big Ten with nine wins in 10 starts as a junior in 2020 before the COVID-19 shutdown โฆ ranked fourth in the Big Ten with a 1.71 ERA that season โฆ sent a career-high 10 batters down on strikes in a complete-game shutout against Georgia Tech (Feb. 16, 2020), earning her Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors โฆ threw four complete games her freshman season in 2018.

Shaw amassed a 53-13 overall record with 29 career shutouts and three no-hitters at Keystone High School โฆ tossed four perfect games and totaled 467 strikeouts and a 1.01 career ERA โฆ as a junior in 2016, she had a 23-3 record, including 202 strikeouts, 13 shutouts and three perfect games to help guide the team to a first-place Patriot Athletic Conference and a state runner-up finish โฆ led the team to a 20-6 record, a second consecutive conference title and a state final four appearance to earn all-state, all-region, all-county, all-district and all-conference selections as a sophomore in 2015 โฆ played travel ball for 10 years, last with the Ohio Lasersโ Blue, leading the team to a second-place finish in the ASA Class A nationals in Bloomington, Ind.

Born Lauren Elizabeth Shaw in LaGrange, Ohio โฆ parents are Ron and Julie Shaw โฆ has one brother, Ronnie โฆ chose UCLA after finding her love for softball again and โthe second I met the coaches and team, I knew UCLA was the place for me. I get to compete with the best of the best every single day and get to be with the most genuine and caring people on top of thatโ โฆ lists LeBron James and Serena Williams as the athletes she admires most โฆ hobbies include traveling, sitting at coffee shops, quality time with friends, astrology, meditation, learning, yoga and watching movies โฆ favorites include bagels, actor Matthew McConaughey, musical artists Frank Ocean, SZA and Drake and the movie Girls Tripย ...ย states the thing she likes most about softball are the mind games that come with it and that she sees the game as โa large game of chessโ โฆ states she likes to word odd jobs and learn new things ... brother played college football at Ashland University ... is currently in John Wooden's Transformative Coaching and Leadership (Education major) master's program after earning her bachelor's in statistics at Iowa ... plans to pursue a career in higher education uponย graduation.
