Kory Barnett has entered his sixth season on the UCLA menโ€™s basketball staff in 2018-19. He was elevated to the role of assistant coach on Dec. 31, 2018, after Murry Bartow was named the programโ€™s interim head coach.

Barnett arrived in Westwood in May 2013, serving as the programโ€™s video coordinator for four seasons.

In five previous seasons at UCLA, Barnett has been a part of four teams that have advanced to the NCAA Tournament (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018). Three of those teams competed in the NCAA Tournamentโ€™s Sweet 16 (2014, 2015 and 2017).

In 2017-18 and 2018-19, Barnett has served as the programโ€™s Director of Operations. He has assisted with day-to-day logistics and coordination of student-athlete scheduling. He serves as a liaison between the coaching staff and athletic department staff members, including community relations and special event outreach. He has continued to play a role in helping to organize and formulate game plans and scouting reports, in addition to working with film breakdown and player development edits.

Barnett spent the 2012-13 season on the menโ€™s basketball staff at his alma mater, Indiana University. He served as a graduate assistant after having earned is degree in sports communication from Indiana in 2012. Barnett played on the menโ€™s basketball team at Indiana for four seasons (2009-12).

A native of Rochester, Ind., Barnett helped lead the Hoosiers to the Sweet 16 as a senior, the first postseason appearance for Indiana since 2008. Barnett played in 48 games over four seasons and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree. He received the teamโ€™s Big Ten Sportsmanship nomination following his junior year.

Barnett and his wife, Sarah, reside in Los Angeles with their son, Brooks (1).
