2015:ย Played in all eight games (102 minutes), making eight starts for Team USA at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea (July 2-14) โฆ he scored four goals on nine shots, converting at a 44.4 percent rateย โฆ scored two goals (on two shots) in the 11-9 win over France in the quarterfinalsย โฆย also tallied three steals, two field blocks and one assist as the United States captured bronze at the World University Games. 2013:ย Played in all eight games (111 minutes) for Team USA at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia (July 6-17) โฆ he scored six goals on 14 shots, converting at a 42.9 percent rate โฆ also registered one steal and one field block as the United States captured fifth place at the World University Games โฆ he also helped the USA to a fifth-place finish at the 2013 FINA Menโs Junior World Championships in Szombathely, Hungary (Aug. 12-18) โฆ the Americans went 5-2 at the Junior Worlds โฆ he played in seven games and tallied five goals.
High School
Four-year varsity water polo letterwinner at Harvard-Westlake High School under head coaches Larry Felix (2008), Robert Lynn (2009-10) and Brian Flacks (2011) โฆ helped the Wolverines reach the quarterfinals of the 2009 CIF Southern Section Division I Championship as a sophomore โฆ named the teamโs most valuable player as a junior and senior โฆ named to the second team All-CIF in 2010 and earned first team All-CIF accolades in 2011 โฆ also earned All-American honors as a senior in 2011.

Full name: Alec Anthony Zwaneveld โฆ born April 11, 1994 in Pasadena, Calif. โฆ his parents are Onno and Tonie Zwaneveld โฆ both of his parents attended UCLA โฆ his father was on three different Bruin teams that won the Rose Bowl (1983, 1984 and 1986) โฆ his godparents, Kevin and Julie Abbott, also attended UCLA โฆ has one older brother, Brendan, who played two seasons on the Bruinsโ menโs water polo team (2011-12) โฆ also has one younger sister, Michelle โฆ competed for Los Angeles Water Polo Club, leading the team to the silver medal at the 2010 Junior Olympics โฆ also played for the Coastal California Zone Team (ODP), earning one gold, one silver and two Junior Olympic bronze medals โฆ was a member of the 2011 USA Youth National Team and the 2012 Junior National Team โฆ says he chose to attend UCLA because โIt has the best combination of academics, athletics and facilities, anywhereโ โฆ lists Revaz Chomakhidze, the captain of the 2004 Russian Olympic team, as the athlete he most admires โฆ major is psychology.
