Following an outstanding four-year career on the diamond, Kylee Perez joins the UCLA softball coaching staff in 2019 as a volunteer assistant coach.
Perez was a four-time NFCA All-Region selection, just the 12thย Bruin ever to accomplish that feat, picking up First Team honors in each of her last three seasons and Third Team accolades as a freshman. Last year, Perez was named an NFCA Second Team All-American, while also becoming the 29th Bruin to earn four All-Pac-12 awards, going from Honorable Mention in 2015 to First Team the last three seasons.ย Off the field, she was a Senior CLASS Award Second Team All-American in 2018 and a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection (2016-2018).
Perez concluded her career ranked in the UCLA Top 10 in six offensive categories, coming in at third in hits (301), fourth in at-bats (777) and runs scored (191), sixth in games played (245), seventh in batting average (.387) and tied for ninth in doubles (45).ย
Last season, Perez led the team with 63 runs scored and 212 at-bats, was second with 10 stolen bases and tied for second with 81 hits, adding a .382 average, seven home runs, 37 runs batted in and 11 doubles. She tied for seventh nationally in runs and tied for ninth in hits.
During Perez's four seasons, the Bruins won 197 games, including 25 in the postseason, having reached the Women's College World Series every year. Perez graduated with a degree in history in 2018.
