Danny Williams begins his secondย season at UCLA as assistant coach for hurdles and horizontal jumps.

Williams comes to UCLA from Cal Poly, where he was an assistant coach for 13 seasons, serving as the programโ€™s recruiting coordinator and strength and development coach, in addition to his day-to-day track & field responsibilities.

Williams has a wealth of international coaching experience, serving as the USA Menโ€™s Manager at the 2005 Pan American Junior Championships and as the head coach of the Guatemala National Track & Field Team from 2002-03. He also served as the head coach for the USA Womenโ€™s World Indoor Championships Team in 2001, as an assistant with the World Championships Team in 1999 and as the head coach for the Womenโ€™s Junior Pan American Championships Team in 1997. In 2003, he became the USATF Womenโ€™s Sprint Development Coordinator.

At South Carolina State from 1992-94, Williams coached All-American high jumper Ken Washington and was an assistant on the World Junior Championships Team and the U.S. Olympic Festival Team.

He coached five All-Americans and 32 conference champions while at UC Irvine from 1981-92, as well as two national champions and the national record-holder in the menโ€™s high jump at his alma mater, Occidental College, from 1978-79.

In 1994, Williams formed Ballistic Sports Development in Norwalk, Conn., where he developed training concepts for professional athletes and corporate executives.
