Drew Casani was named Director of Scouting for UCLA Football in the summer of 2017. He brings with him a long history of experience and success as an NFL front office employee. His duties at UCLA include overseeing the UCLA Scouting Department. The department is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential recruits. Casani will work with Director of Player Personnel, Matt Bernstein and Director of Recruiting, Patrick Girardi in continuing to build on the recent successes of UCLA’s recruiting classes. The UCLA Scouting Department includes Casani and four talented Scouting Analysts (Cody Roelof, Daniel Fields, Lucas Gauthier and Librado Baracio).

Casani has nearly 10 years’ experience as an NFL Scout and front office employee. Most recently as the West Coast Area Scout for the St. Louis Rams (2009-2013). In that role, he evaluated over 500 college prospects each year in preparation for the annual NFL Draft. Prior to that, Casani worked in the San Francisco 49ers front office as a scout and personnel assistant. His responsibility included evaluation of NFL and college players, as well as assisting in the day to day operations of the personnel department. During his time in San Francisco, Casani was fortunate to work for legendary Bruin Head Coach, Terry Donahue, who served as the 49ers GM from 2001-2005.

A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Casani has also achieved an extensive list of volunteer activities for local churches and hospitals. He served two stints as an assistant football coach at Loyola High School in Los Angeles from 1995-99 and in 2008. Casani and his wife Mandy, along with their boys Kane (8), Luke (6) and John (3) reside in Pasadena, CA.
