Kendall Gustafson

Kendall Gustafson enters her first year as a volunteer assistant coach after concluding a very successful collegiate career at UCLA. She will be assisting the multi-event athletes and high jumpers for the 2019 season. Gustafson graduated with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies.
While at UCLA, Kendall was a First Team All-American in the heptathlon, placing fourth at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships. She was runner-up at the Pac-12 Championships with a PR score of 5,886, which ranks second in UCLA history behind only Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
Gustafson was the 2018 MPSF Conference Champion in the indoor pentathlon, setting a UCLA school record of 4,084. In addition to the multi events, Gustafson is fifth all-time at UCLA in the javelin (46.71m) and ninth all-time in the indoor high jump (1.80m). She scored in both events at the Pac-12 Championships from 2016-18.
Gustafson attended Palisades Charter High School and Duke University for two years prior to transferring to UCLA. After her senior year of high school, she placed second in the heptathlon at the USA Junior Championships, and went on to compete in the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Medellin, Colombia, for Team USA. She was named a high school All-American during her senior season.
Gustafson was captain of the UCLA track team in 2017 and 2018, and was the women’s track & field representative on the UCLA All-Academic Team (highest GPA on each varsity team) during both seasons. In 2018, she was a finalist for UCLA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Gustafson continues to train and compete as a professional track & field athlete. Her superb athletic career and vast knowledge of the sport is why she is a great addition to the UCLA track & field staff.
