Rowed two seat in the 1V4+ for the season opener against rival USC… Continued the season in four seat of the 2V8+ at the San Diego Crew Classic, helping the Bruins to a grand final appearance and fifth place in the field… Moved into six seat of the second varsity eight for the USD Dual, where the Bruins placed first… Found her way back in four seat for the Big Ten Invitational in Florida… Guided the Bruins to second place in the opening flight and a pair of third-place finishes to wrap the weekend… Moved back to six seat for the UCSD Triton Invitational, where UCLA finished first… Closed out the season in six seat of the 2V8+, helping the Bruins to fourth place in the petite final of the Big Ten Championships.
High School
Attended Piedmont High School for four years… Was a one-year varsity letter winner in water polo… Rowed for the Oakland Strokes… Earned the Most Improved Award for the 2022-2023 season.
Personal
Born in San Francisco, Calif.… Is the daughter of Liz and Karim Tahawi… Mother, Liz, rowed for Georgetown… Has two older siblings, Cole (23) and Zozo (21)… Remarks UCLA has been a “dream school” of hers since elementary school… Lists Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic and Serena McLaughlin-Levrone as the famous athletes she admires most… Enjoys running, journaling, drawing and fashion… Cheetahs have been her favorite animal since she was eight… Plans to become an attorney post-graduation… Political Science major.
