James Potter joined the UCLA Sports Medicine staff in 2025 as an associate athletic trainer for women’s soccer.
Prior to UCLA, Potter served as the athletic trainer for women’s gymnastics at California from 2022-25 and earned his Master’s degree in exercise and sport studies from the University of North Carolina in 2022 while working with the men's wrestling program. He also served as an intern athletic trainer at Bryant University from 2019-20, working primarily with track & field and football.
A native of Ashford, Ct., Potter was a member of the track & field program at Springfield College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2019.
