Prior to his time in Westwood, Brandt spent six seasons on the CSUN sports medicine staff (2015-21) and was promoted to associate athletic trainer in the summer of 2019. While with the Matadors, he worked primarily with the womenโ€™s soccer team while overseeing a GA with the softball program.

In addition to managing the satellite athletic training center at CSUN, Brandt also oversaw several administrative duties for the sports medicine staff and worked directly with track & field, womenโ€™s tennis and the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s golf programs at some point during his tenure there. In his second season at CSUN, the womenโ€™s soccer program captured the 2016 Big West Regular-Season Championship.

The California native served an internship with the Florida menโ€™s and womenโ€™s swim and dive team in 2014-15. While in Gainesville, Brandt worked directly with world champion and 2024 Olympian Caeleb Dressel while the menโ€™s team hoisted the 2015 SEC Championship trophy. He also worked alongside postgraduate professionals and Olympian swimmers training with the Gator Swim Club in his spare time there.

Before joining the Gators, Brandt served as athletic trainer for USA Water Poloโ€™s Menโ€™s National Team in the summer of 2013 while also providing cover for the junior, youth and cadet national teams on the world stage. He then joined Performance Therapy later that year at St. Johnโ€™s Health Center in Santa Monica as a physical therapy aide.

He obtained his masterโ€™s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports medicine and injury studies at Long Beach State in 2013. While at The Beach, he spent two seasons (2011-13) working directly with menโ€™s water polo and menโ€™s volleyball programs as the graduate assistant athletic trainer. He also had the opportunity to present โ€œPaget-Schrotter Syndrome in a Collegiate Volleyball Player: A Case Study,โ€ at the 2013 National Athletic Trainers Association Annual Conference and Symposium.

Brandtโ€™s undergraduate work was completed at Fresno State in 2011 where he majored in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. He gained invaluable hands-on work in the Valley working directly various programs such as football, menโ€™s basketball, womenโ€™s volleyball, baseball, menโ€™s and womenโ€™s tennis and womenโ€™s lacrosse. He also gained experience working on the professional side, serving his 2010 summer internship with the then Oakland Raiders.

A member of NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) since 2019, Brandt has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since July of 2011. Brandt also attained additional certifications throughout his career that include: Corrective Exercise specialist (CES), Exos Performance Specialist (XPS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).
