Joey O'Keefe joined the UCLA men's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2026 after serving for five seasons as the head coach at Biola University.
During his tenure at Biola, O'Keefe guided the Eagles to a PacWest Conference regular-season championship and two NCAA Division II Championship appearances. Under his leadership, the program produced multiple All-Americans, all-region selections, conference award winners, and numerous Academic All-PacWest honorees while establishing a culture centered on player development and competitive excellence. O'Keefe compiled a 37-35-17 overall record as head coach and helped elevate Biola into one of the top programs in the PacWest Conference.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, O'Keefe helped launch the men's and women's soccer programs at Westcliff University, where the two teams combined for a 19-6-4 record over two seasons. He also served as head coach at Pacifica Christian High School, earning Coach of the Year honors in each of his three seasons with the Tritons. In addition, O'Keefe has extensive experience in player identification and talent evaluation through his work with the LA Galaxy organization as an academy scout, international scout, and team chaplain.
A standout player at Biola from 2012-15, O'Keefe earned NAIA First Team All-America honors, was named the GSAC Player of the Year, and received three All-GSAC selections during his collegiate career. He finished with 28 goals and 21 assists before playing professionally in Salzburg, Austria, following three seasons in the Premier Development League.
