Jorge Salcedo spent 15 seasons as the head coach for UCLA men’s soccer from 2004-18, compiling an overall record of 182-89-42 (.649) and reaching the NCAA Tournament on 14 occasions.

During his tenure, the Bruins captured six conference titles and appeared in three College Cups. UCLA was national runner-up in both 2006 and 2014. Salcedo was named the Pac-10/12 Coach of the Year on four occasions (2004, 2008, 2011-12).

UCLA had 40 players selected in the MLS SuperDraft under Salcedo, including 21 first-round selections. Of those 21 selections, 13 were taken inside the top-10, including a quartet of No. 1 overall picks: Marvell Wynne (2006), Chance Myers (2008), Abu Danladi (2017), and Frankie Amaya (2019).

As a player, Salcedo was a four-year starter at UCLA from 1990-93. He recorded six goals and seven assists for 19 points over 74 career games. He scored the decisive penalty kick in UCLA’s 1990 NCAA Championship Game, and was a First Team All-American as a senior. He went on to play five seasons in MLS with the LA Galaxy, Chicago, Columbus, and Tampa Bay.
