Brian Goodell

One of the nation's great all-time freestyle swimmers, Brian Goodell won nine NCAA titles in his four-year career at UCLA from 1978-1981. On the world scene, he won two gold medals and set two world records in the 400 and 1650 freestyle events at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, then was selected for the same events at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow (the United States boycotted the competition). He also won three gold medals at the 1979 Pan American Games. After retiring from competition, he entered the real-estate field in Rancho Santa Margarita. He was inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991.
