FRESNO, Calif. - In one of the most dominating performances ever at the Fresno State Softball Classic, UCLA set seven single-game tournament records, including runs scored (16), home runs (4), hits (18), RBI (16), doubles (4), at bats (38) and hit batsman (3), en route to a 16-4 rout of Creighton, Saturday. In addition, third baseman Julie Adams set a single-game tournament record of her own, recording five RBI.

In the bottom of the first inning, UCLA trailed for only the third time all season as Creighton ran off four runs on three hits to take an early 4-0 advantage. UCLA, however, ran off 16 unanswered runs, scoring four in the third, five in the fifth and seven in the seventh. UCLA pitcher Courtney Dale came in to relieve starter Stephanie Swenson in the first inning, pitching 6 2/3 innings, striking out seven and giving up just four hits in the process. The win marked Dale's 11th of the season.

Adams was UCLA's top performer for the game, highlighting her five-RBI performance going 3-for-5 with a home run and a double. The Bruins also had three other players with three hits apiece as Christie Ambrosi (3-for-5, 3 RBI two runs scored), Julie Marshall (3-for-5, 3 RBI, two runs scored) and Lupe Brambila (3-for-4, two RBI, two doubles) all joined in on the action. The Bruins had four players leave the park Saturday as Ambrosi, Marshall, Nuveman and Adams all notched round-trippers.

With the victory, UCLA picks up its fourth win of the tournament, improving to 22-0 on the season. Next up for the Bruins is the University of Missouri at 5:00 p.m. this evening. UCLA's much anticipated showdown with No. 3 Fresno State will be on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. That game can be heard live via the internet at www.broadcast.com.
