SEATTLE, Wash. - In a tune-up match for the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Washington's 18th-ranked men's tennis team stayed within striking distance of fifth-ranked UCLA but could not pull off the upset before falling 5-2 in the Nordstrom Tennis Center. Washington drops to 5-2 overall in the non-conference match and UCLA improves to 7-1. Senior Eric Drew defeated 14th-ranked Jean-Noel Grinda 6-3, 7-6 in No. 1 singles to place him in fourth-place on Washington's all-time singles wins list with 70. Drew improves his record to 7-0 on the season.
