The UCLA women's gymnastics team debuted at No. 8 in the first national rankings of the season with a high score of 193.225. Alabama is the No. 1 team with a mark of 195.75, followed by Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota and Arizona State.

The Bruins ranked in the Top 6 on vault (No. 2 - 49.025), bars (No. 6 - 48.775) and floor (No. 3 - 49.15).

In individual rankings, junior Mohini Bhardwaj holds the No. 1 ranking on the uneven bars with a 9.95, the highest mark by any gymnast on any event this year. She is also tied for second on floor (9.9) and ranks third on vault (9.875 and sixth in the all-around (39.05). Senior Lena Degteva ranks No. 22 in the all-around with a 38.55.

UCLA is well-represented in the vault, bars and floor rankings. On vault, four Bruins are ranked in the Top 10 - No. 3 Bhardwaj, No. 4 Heidi Moneymaker (9.85) and No. 9 Degteva and Onnie Willis (9.8). Three Bruins are ranked in the Top 25 on bars - No. 1 Bhardwaj, No. 4 Degteva (9.9) and No. 21 Kristin Parker (9.825). On floor, Bhardwaj ranks second, and Degteva and Moneymaker are tied for 10th (9.85).
