LOS ANGELES - It was an offensive day for UCLA, as it swept a regular season-ending doubleheader from Oregon on Saturday afternoon at Easton Stadium. Game one was a 5-2 Bruin win, while game two ended 12-4 in the sixth inning on a two-RBI double by Amanda Freed With the victories, UCLA is now 39-11-1 overall, 14-7 Pac-10, and awaits its selection to the NCAA Tournament field. Oregon falls to 34-27, 6-15 Pac-10 with the losses.

Perhaps the best news of the day for the Bruins came in game one, as Courtney Dale pitched her first complete game since being diagnosed with a torn labrum in her right (pitching) shoulder. Dale went the distance for UCLA, striking out three and scattering seven hits in the 5-2 win.

UCLA's offense came in the third and fourth innings. Things started in the bottom of the third with a leadoff walk to Tairia Mims, who advanced to third on a bunt single by Crissy Buck. Buck also advanced to second on the play, as Oregon tried to get Mims out at third base.

Left fielder Lupe Brambila singled Mims home, and Buck crossed the plate on a wild pitch during Amanda Freed's at-bat. Brambila then stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball, scoring on a groundout by Natasha Watley.

In the fourth, the Bruins rallied with two outs, as Dale singled, then advanced to third on a single by Mims. Buck then singled home both baserunners on a liner to left field.

Oregon rallied in the top of the seventh inning, on a leadoff single by left fielder Andrea Vidund, followed by a home run to left field by Holly Ray, her seventh shot of the year.

In game two, the Bruin offense scored runs early and often, posting three runs in the first, one in the second, four in the third, one in the fourth, and four in the sixth to end the game on the eight-run rule. It started in the bottom of the first when Freed walked and stole second base. Watley singled to advance Freed to third, then swiped second to set a new UCLA single-season record. She would add another steal in the fifth inning, bringing her season total to 27, two better than the previous Bruin record of 25 swipes set last season by current U.S. Olympian Christie Ambrosi.

Every Bruin in the batting order had at least one hit in game two, and all but second baseman Lyndsey Klein scored a run.
