Four UCLA Gymnasts Earn Scholastic All-America Honors

The UCLA gymnastics team was a winner both on and off the floor during the 1999-2000 school year. The 2000 Pac-10, Regional and NCAA champions earned a cumulative team grade point average of 3.29 to rank 21st in the nation in the academic team rankings. Four Bruins earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors, which acknowledge gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher gpa during the school year.
Sophomore team co-captain Stephanie Johnson (Ann Arbor, MI) led all Bruins with a 3.91 gpa in pre-psychobiology. She and sophomore Lindsey Dong (San Jose, CA), who earned a 3.642 gpa, repeated as Academic All-Americans.
Earning all-academic nods for the first time were freshmen Kristin Parker (Hanford, CA), who recorded a 3.665 gpa and also earned All-America honors on bars and all-around at the NCAA Championships, and Carly Raab (Seattle, WA), who achieved a 3.642 gpa.
