Men's Golfers Third after 36 Holes at Inverness Intercollegiates

The UCLA men's golf team, sparked by the solid play of junior Parker Mclachlin and freshman John Merrick, is third after 36 holes in the Inverness Intercollegiates at Inverness Club in Toledo, OH.
The Bruins (597) trail South Carolina (577), which extended its five-shot, first round lead over UCLA to 20 after posting a second round score of 285, one-over par. Kansas is second at 590 and Colorado and TCU are tied for 4th at 599.
McLachlin posted rounds of 72-76--148 and Merrick came in with a pair of 74s. Both players trail Fresno State's Nick Watney (68-73--141) and Kansas' Travis Hurst (72-69--141) by seven shots.
UCLA sophomore Travis Johnson posted a pair of 75s and is tied for 21st at 150. Freshman Steve Conway fired a pair of 76s and is tied for 32nd at 152 with senior Ross Fulgentis, who shot 77-75.
