Los Angeles - Stephanie Rigamat and Breana Boling each netted second-half goals Friday as the No. 8 UCLA women's soccer team registered a 2-0 victory over Vanderbilt at the 2000 Fila Challenge hosted by USC.
The Bruins, however, sustained a key loss in the victory as freshman defender Nandi Pryce suffered a season-ending leg injury, possibly fracturing her left tibia in the first half. Pryce was taken to the UCLA Medical Center where x-rays will determine the extent of her injury.
Following a scoreless first half, UCLA got on the board in the 57th minute when junior forward Stephanie Rigamat gathered up a loose ball in front of the Vanderbilt net, putting in a shot passed Commodore keeper Stacee Sproul.
The Bruins scored their second goal in the 68th minute when junior midfielder Breana Boling knocked in a shot from about 10 yards out.
UCLA, which improved to 4-1 on the season, outshot Vanderbilt 18-1. The Bruins will take on Baylor on Sunday at Noon in their second game of the Challenge.
