Los Angeles -- The No. 29 UCLA women's tennis team dropped its first Pac-10 match of the season Friday, falling to No. 18 USC, 6-1 at the Marks Tennis Stadium on the campus of USC. With the loss, the Bruins fall to 5-11 overall and 2-1 in Pac-10 play. The Women of Troy improve to 13-5 overall and 2-1 in conference action.

UCLA's lone victory on the afternoon came at No. 4 singles where freshman Mariko Fritz-Krockow defeated USC's Tiffany Brymer, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The Women of Troy won the other five singles matches including all three doubles contests.

The Bruins return to the courts on Saturday where they will take on No. 17 Pepperdine at the Los Angeles Tennis Center beginning at 11:00 a.m.
