Jamie Dantzscher Named Pac-10 Gymnast Of The Week

UCLA freshman Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, CA/San Dimas HS) has been selected as the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week for February 28-March 4.
Last week at the Bruin Classic, Dantzscher helped the Bruins post a meet-record 197.7 team total, and her perfect 10 on the floor exercise helped the Bruins record a 49.85 team score on that event to set a new school record. She tied for first on floor and won every other event she entered, claiming first place on vault with a career-high tying 9.925 and on bars with a 9.925.
Dantzscher's 10 was her fourth perfect mark on the floor and her sixth overall this season. Just a freshman, she already owns the UCLA school record for most perfect 10s in a season and in a career. She has scored at least one perfect 10 in five of eight meets and in three consecutive meets.
The 2000 U.S. Olympian tops the national rankings on floor and bars.
The Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honor is Dantzscher's first of the season and the fourth for a Bruin this year.
