All Eight Bruin Competitors Earn All-America Acclaim

Athens, GA - All eight competing UCLA gymnasts earned a school-record 20 All-America honors at the NCAA Championships. The Bruins had 15 first-team selections, the most in school history and the most by any team at this year's championships.
Leading the way was NCAA all-around co-champion Onnie Willis, who earned first-team honors on bars, beam, floor and the all-around, as well as second-team acclaim on vault. Willis becomes only the third gymnast in school history to earn the maximum five All-America honors at an NCAA Championship, following Lena Degteva (2000) and Heidi Moneymaker (1999).
Freshman Yvonne Tousek, who tied for third in the all-around, picked up first-team honors on bars, beam and the all-around and second-team honors on floor. Tousek's four All-America titles tie the UCLA freshman record, held by fellow Canadian Stella Umeh.
Mohini Bhardwaj, who tied with Tousek for third place in the all-around, recorded first-team honors on bars, floor and the all-around to give her 11 in her career.
Freshman Jamie Dantzscher was an All-American in all three events in which she competed, picking up first-team honors on bars and floor and second-team honors on vault.
Sophomore Doni Thompson also earned All-America honors on all of her events, taking first-team on bars and second-team on beam.
Sophomore Kristin Parker was a first-teamer on vault, and Kristen Maloney was as well on the balance beam. Sophomore Malia Jones garnered her first-ever All-America certificate, a second-team honor on beam.
