Sophomore Onnie Willis (Tacoma, WA/Wilson HS) of the UCLA Gymnastics Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 16-22.

Willis not only helped UCLA win its third NCAA team title in five years, but she also became UCLA's first-ever NCAA all-around champion when she tied Elise Ray of Michigan with a 39.525. Willis was one of just two athletes to earn All-America honors on all four events and the all-around, capturing first-team status on bars, beam, floor and the all-around and second-team acclaim on vault.

During the individual event finals Apr. 21, Willis took home runner-up honors on bars, placed fifth on the floor exercise and 11th on the balance beam.

The eight-time All-American has won two NCAA team championships during her two years on the squad.

This is Willis' first student-athlete of the week honor of the season and the second of her career.
