Jamie Dantzscher Named Pac-10 Gymnast Of The Week

UCLA sophomore Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, CA/San Dimas HS) has been selected as the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week for January 15-21. Dantzscher, a 2000 U.S. Olympian and two-time All-American scored two perfect 10s on floor this weekend, helping the Bruins capture wins against Cal State Fullerton and Boise State on Friday night and Arizona State on Sunday.
On Friday, she set a school record after earning her ninth career 10 and also placed third on the balance beam with a 9.825.
On Sunday, Dantzscher tied for first in the all-around (39.3), captured first place on the vault (9.925) and earned her second consecutive perfect 10 on floor to take first-place honors on that event as well.
Dantzscher now has 10 career perfect 10s, including seven on floor. Nationally, she is ranked first on both vault and floor, second on bars, 25th on beam and 11th in the all-around.
The Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honor is Dantzscher's first of the season and the second in her career.
