LOS ANGELES - Junior Tobias Clemens won the first set but couldn't hold off a late rally by Middle Tennessee's Daniel Klemetz, falling in the quarterfinals Saturday at the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Tennis Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Clemens, the tournament's No. 2 seed, was the highest seeded player left in the draw after top-seeded Jesse Witten of Kentucky fell in the first round on Thursday. Despite losing the first set however, the seventh-seeded Klemetz came back to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. It marked the second year in a row that Klemetz knocked out Clemens from the ITA All-American.
Next up for UCLA will be the Omni Hotels Regionals, Oct. 23-27 in Malibu, Calif.
