Djahangiri, Lam Advance to Finals at ITA Regionals

Malibu, Calif. -UCLA senior Erfan Djahangiri and freshman Chris Lam each won a pair of singles matches Saturday to advance to the finals at the Omni Hotels Region VIII-South Championships at Pepperdine University.

Djahangiri, seeded sixth, started the day by defeating Mirco Schwindt of UCSB, 6-0, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. He then went on to down Pepperdine's Diego Acuna, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.

Lam, the tournament's No. 5 seed, defeated teammate Lassi Ketola, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 in the quarters before upsetting No. 1 Clemens, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
