Six UCLA Gymnasts Earn Scholastic All-America Honors

Six members of the UCLA gymnastics team earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors during the 2001-02 school year, leading the Bruins to a standardized team GPA of 3.2859, ranked 32nd in the nation. The Bruin gymnasts ranked first amongst all UCLA athletic teams in 2001-02 with an institutional team GPA of 3.23.

Sophomore Jamie Williams and freshman Natasha Desai each earned highest team GPA honors with a 3.89. It is Williams' second consecutive Scholastic All-America honor and Desai's first.

Juniors Kristin Parker (3.83 GPA) and Carly Raab (3.63) earned scholastic honors for the third consecutive year, and Onnie Willis (3.62) earned her second consecutive scholastic award. Freshman Christie Tedmon became a first-time honoree after recording a 3.52 GPA in her first year.

The NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors acknowledge gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher GPA during the school year.
