
Tobias Clemens Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete Of The Week

Clemens captured both the singles and doubles titles at the Southern California Intercollegiates at the Los Angeles Tennis Club over the weekend. Clemens, the tournament's top-seeded player, defeated teammate Chris Lam, 6-2, 6-3, in Sunday's final. He then teamed with Lam to win the doubles championship, 8-0 over teammates Chris Surapol and Aaron Yovan.
This is Clemens' first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
Also nominated: Aaron Lopez, M. Soccer (one goal, one assist as UCLA clinched the Pac-10 title); Colby Lyman, W. Volleyball (led UCLA with 3.67 kills/game, a .400 attack percentage and four aces); Roy Moon, M. Golf (two wins at Collegiate Match Play Championships); Iris Mora, W. Soccer (game-winner in double OT against Oregon); Brett Ormsby, M. Water Polo (10 goals in three wins); Chris Pena, M. Volleyball (MVP in 3-0 win over Team Canada); Noelle Quinn, W. Basketball (buzzer-beater downs Love and Basketball, led all players with 22 points); Kim Vandenberg, W. Swimming (won the 100m and 200m butterfly in dual meet win, qualified for NCAA in 100 fly); Gina Umeck, W. Golf (2-0-0 at Collegiate Match Play Championships).
