
Bruin Gymnasts Rank No. 1 Across The Board

The UCLA women's gymnastics team holds the No. 1 ranking on all team and individual categories in this week's national rankings, which is now based on Regional Qualifying Score (RQS). The team holds a RQS of 197.98, well ahead of No. 2 Alabama's 197.1. Individually, freshman Kate Richardson (Coquitlam, BC) ranks No. 1 in the all-around with an RQS of 39.615.
The Bruins are also No. 1 in the nation on vault with a 49.525, bars with a 49.495, beam with a 49.575 and floor with a 49.54.
In the individual rankings, Bruins are No. 1 and No. 2 in the all-around, with Richardson holding the top spot just ahead of senior teammate Onnie Willis (Tacoma, WA), who has a RQS of 39.59. Junior Jeanette Antolin (Huntington Beach, CA) is ranked 14th (39.28).
Richardson is also ranked No. 1 on the balance beam with a 9.97 RQS and is ninth on floor (9.91), 11th on vault (9.89) and 15th on the uneven bars (9.875).
Junior Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, CA) ranks first in the nation on bars (9.975) and floor (9.985) and sixth on vault (9.925).
Antolin ranks first on vault with a 9.965 RQS, 12th on beam with a 9.895 and 20th on bars with a 9.865.
Willis joins Richardson as the only Bruin ranked in all four events and the all-around, earning Top 10 rankings across the board. Willis ranks second on vault (9.935), fourth on bars (9.905), ninth on beam (9.905) and sixth on floor (9.925).
Also featured in the rankings are junior Yvonne Tousek (Cambridge, Ontario), who is fifth on beam (9.930), senior Kristin Parker (Hanford, CA), who ranks 13th on vault (9.885), and senior Malia Jones (Sparks, NV), who ranks 23rd on beam (9.865).
Regional Qualifying Score is obtained by taking the six best regular-season meet scores, of which three must be away, eliminating the high score and then averaging the remaining five scores.
