Fullerton, Calif. - The top-ranked UCLA men's soccer team won the Cal State Fullerton Soccer Town Classic after defeating Ohio State, 1-0, at Titan Stadium. Freshman Chad Barrett scored in the 66th minute to account for the game's lone score.

A Brandon Owens cross to Barrett set up the goal. Barrett's header bounced off Ohio State goalkeeper Ray Burse, Jr., and Barrett followed through by kicking in the rebound. The freshman forward had two goals and three assists in the tournament.

Goalkeeper Zach Wells earned his first shutout of the season and made two saves.

Although both UCLA and Cal State Fullerton won both of their games at the Classic, UCLA won the team title by virtue of a plus-four goal differential. Cal State Fullerton, had a plus three and settled for runnerup honors.

Senior forward Matt Taylor was selected the outstanding offensive player of the tournament based on his three-goal performance in Friday's 5-2 win over Penn State. Cal State Fullerton freshman Marco Rodriguez was tapped top defensive player for his role in the Titan's two shutouts, and Ignacio Cid was selected the tourney's MVP after scoring all three Titan goals.
