Four individuals from UCLA's Blue Team were competing in the SCU Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University at the Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose.
After 36 holes, freshman Brandon Christianson was tied for fourth place at 149 (74-75, +4) and trailed the leader by five shots. Sophomore Joakim Renstrom was tied for 10th at 152 (76-76, +8), followed by freshman Craig Leslie, who was tied for 24th at 156 (79-77, +12). Saratoga High graduate Matt Marshall was tied for 36th at 159 (76-83, +15).
Santa Clara University was the team leader at 588 and one of its golfers, Michael Nicoletti was the individual leader at 144 (72-72, E).
